I chose this pattern by Lina De Montigny called, "Hippodrome." The colors were gorgeous and the horse was wonderful. I thought it a perfect birthday gift for my dear friend. It was a quick knit, however, because I chose to knit it as a fair isle project the work pulled as it felted giving a ripple effect to the edging. I am finding the finishing a challenge and am considering cutting it down to make a pillow. We'll see....
I chose quite the summer crochet project. Inspired by Debbie Stoller's new yarn line. The colors are wonderful. I quickly chose a bright variety and decided to try my hand at a simple ripple blanket. I got help from Lucy at Attic24 and her "Neat Ripple Pattern." I ended up chaining way to many foundation stitches! It is super long... and I am now committed to a queen size blanket versus a throw!
The lovely girls that sold us our home left with us their childhood treasure, their doll house. It is still in mid-construction but is already a work of art. It still needs some shingles on the roof, paint, finishing, and some repairs. I thought it would be a perfect summer project.
I always seem to take at least one photo shoot of the our lovely raspberry harvest. This encompasses one of the many treats we enjoy during the season!
I'm a busy city gal craving the roots of my wonderful childhood on an avocado ranch in the Santa Barbara foothills.
My passion is all things fiber, farm, and food! Oh and did I mention knitting??!
