Jack and I had fun using the giant zucchinis from our garden to make a delish zucchini carrot bread! Yum! We made a bunch and tried out different combos. On the whole we used half whole wheat flour and half regular. We substituted apple sauce for some of the oil, and we added chocolate chips, raisins, and walnuts to one batch! yum!
We were so worried that our beloved farm concerts would be canceled over a land use battle! Thankfully farmer Don of Kruger farm got to continue the farm concerts, for now.... It was an especially incredible night. The weather was gorgeous, the music was wonderful, and the Audubon society had 3 young barn owls to release. It was surreal watching these gorgeous little guys get to fly free for the first time. They were siblings from an abandoned nest. After that the night was filled with berry picking, sprinkler running, and dancing! ohhhh heart!
I started the Aestlight Shawl by Gudrun Johnston for one of my dear friends for her birthday. I had some Blue Sky Alpaca light cotton in this rich teal color. Perfect summer treat knit. During my relaxing porch knitting session my son had decided that he would be a doxie pup for the day too and joined Jimmy in his crate...
Lincoln just turned 1 yesterday and is the cutest cutie pie so I decided to use some leftover Blue Sky Alpaca dyed cotton to make him a stripey hat! My son, Jack-Jack, modeled it for me as I still need to ship it out to the birthday boy! We love you Lincoln pants!
I'm a busy city gal craving the roots of my wonderful childhood on an avocado ranch in the Santa Barbara foothills.
My passion is all things fiber, farm, and food! Oh and did I mention knitting??!
