A new year, good friend, and her new pup. All deserves a great hike. We went with Jacque and Slayer Ann to hike Fairy Falls in the gorge. It was a perfect crisp day mixed with plenty of oxygen and a great breeze. Ideal for plenty of steep switch backs. I'm always so proud of the kids on these hikes as they are true trail blazers. Mr. Jimmy too.

Christmas Stockings!
My mom made all 5 of us kids and her two grand kids these wonderful needlepoint stockings. Each of them unique, backed by red crushed velvet, lined with bells, and favored by their recipient. I have sworn to one day archive these puppies as they are all so special. But here is a peak at her sweets works.

Wild Things
My daughter Bijou just turned 9! For each of the kids birthday they get to request a theme cake from their Nana. This has been a tradition since my siblings and I were young. I have tried to convince my mom to at least archive these puppies, as they are amazing! So I will do my part and share them as I come across new photos. For Bijou, she wanted a wild things cake. Nana did such a magical job of recreating the wild things parading through the jungle. Complete with Bijou and our dog Jimmy. It was such a special surprise.
Ben Buttons Cowl 2
I made a super quick cowl a year ago and called it my Benjamin Buttons Cowl. As Brad was born an old man I was just casting on and I did my cast off as he was a toddler. I was not in love with the movie like everyone else, but I was in love with my soft new cowl. Both cowls I used a super bulky alpaca which knits up like butter and is super soft and warm. I did a simple seed stitch and waa la!
