I chose this pattern by Lina De Montigny called, "Hippodrome." The colors were gorgeous and the horse was wonderful. I thought it a perfect birthday gift for my dear friend. It was a quick knit, however, because I chose to knit it as a fair isle project the work pulled as it felted giving a ripple effect to the edging. I am finding the finishing a challenge and am considering cutting it down to make a pillow. We'll see....

Ripple-rific!
I chose quite the summer crochet project. Inspired by Debbie Stoller's new yarn line. The colors are wonderful. I quickly chose a bright variety and decided to try my hand at a simple ripple blanket. I got help from Lucy at Attic24 and her "Neat Ripple Pattern." I ended up chaining way to many foundation stitches! It is super long... and I am now committed to a queen size blanket versus a throw!

Color-rific!
I heart this yarn sooooo much! Zitron Opus is a soft single ply that has Aloe and Jojoba oil throughout! It feels like butter and your hands feel super soft and happy after! I made Christa Giles Big Thompson Scarf from Knitscene for my dear friend Crystal's birthday. I definitely want to make another opus something soon!

Best Beachy Birthday!
For my birthday this year we got to go stay in an incredible beach house in Rockaway with our best friends, kids, and dogs!!! haha 4 dogs to be exact! It was an absolutely relaxing and heavenly trip devoid of all cell phones, laundry, homework, tv, and driving. We cooked delicious food, lounged around in our favorite sun porch, had long beach days, walks, and watched the kids delight in each other and their surroundings. I barely saw the two of them the whole time as they played from the moment they got up to the moment they hit the pillow! The best part was catching up with dear friends and remembering to breath deep and savor every precious moment of the truly blessed life.
